Talk: "When learning doesn't come naturally" (in Dutch)
Upgrade Academy (Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 128, 9000 Ghent) | 7.30pm | For Upkot residents
Not all brains work in the same way. People with autism, AD(H)D, dyslexia, dyscalculia, giftedness and high sensitivity are sometimes pigeonholed, while their skills can be an asset to society.
Do you have...
a head full of ideas that never stands still, lots of potential that just doesn't become reality and often no focus or sometimes just a lot?
Do you...
sometimes feel not quite understood by the people around you and often feel more sensitive to crowds, colours, smells and sounds than the rest?
Do you...
want to learn to understand your own head better, communicate better and get tips & tricks to sort out your studies and social life?
Then follow this training of Carla Havermans and gain more insight into yourself and the people around you!
Who is Carla Havermans?
Carla Havermans is a social geographer with a heart for diversity in society. With her company "DIVERSIFY", she wants to spread more knowledge about LGBTI+ and neurodiversity, in the workplace and in wider society. Carla herself also received a neurodiversity label and she is happy to tell you all about it.
When she is not at work, she is a real bon vivant who loves travelling, sailing, good food, reading and a good glass of wine.
