Ghent monument “De Vooruit” turns into the Upgrade Academy

Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 128, 9000 Gent

Renovation of the former editorial offices of newspaper “De Vooruit”, with a lot of respect for the authentic materials.
Beautiful art-deco facade: striking geometric glass sections, glazed red cement tiles and a strong verticality thanks to the glass ‘news ticker’.
Now home to the Upgrade Academy, a place where Upgrade Estate’s stakeholders can meet and inspire each other, can share experiences en work on innovations.
A showcase of “the ultimate user experience”: access to the building with handpalm scan or QR-code, warm welcoming by James the robot, state-of-the-art meeting rooms and facilities.
All rooms are named (with a twist) after famous newspapers: The Inspiration Tribune, The Editors Post, The Independent,…
