Koningsstraat 119/123, 1000 Brussels
In King Upkot, we used once again a sustainable approach with smart energy applications. The building is completely gas-free and is heated with two heat pumps. This saves no less than 68 tonnes of CO². The water for the showers and washbasins is also heated in a smart way using heat exchangers. In addition, many other techniques can be found in King Upkot: ventilation system D, LED lighting and high-efficiency glass.
The complete interior of King Upkot was created by our Look & Feel team. With Upcycling (reusing old materials), they gave the building a true Upkot look. With no less than 11.000 crown caps, the floor in the entrance hall was given a true metamorphosis. 8000 books were saved from the stake and found a new home in the nice benches and cabinets throughout the building. An old confessional was given a new life and a place as a throne at the entrance. And don't forget the beautiful stairwell with the graffiti art.
